Dejavniki kakovostnega izobraževanja: kje se nahajajo zasebne univerze in kje državne?

V pričujočem prispevku se posvečamo kakovostnemu vidiku izobraževanja in ga postavimo v okvir razprave med zasebnimi in državnimi izobraževalnimi ustanovami. Zanima nas vprašanje, ali so zasebne univerze boljše od javnih. Na podlagi kompilacije visoko citiranih raziskav pokažemo, da so študentje zasebnih uni-verz praviloma boljši od svojih vrstnikov iz javnih univerz. Boljšo povprečno kakovost zasebnih univerz potrjujejo tudi uvrstitve na lestvici najbolje uvrščenih univerz po kriterijih Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). Podatki tudi kažejo, da so zasebne univerze bolje uvrščene na lestvici ARWU in da med njimi obsta-jajo večje kakovostne razlike kot med javnimi. Pomembna ugoto-vitev je tudi ta, da zgolj avtonomija še ne zagotavlja visoke uvrstitve univerze, niti je državni status kot tak ne omejuje.
